The tournament is open to clubs of all levels in the English football league system, from the top-tier Premier League teams to amateur and semi-professional clubs and this is what makes the competition so special.

In 2023, Man City won the competition on their way to a historic treble, beating Manchester United in a memorable final at Wembley Stadium. In 2024, every team will be hoping to make it to Wembley, not only for the semi-final but the final too.
